#62

A Sunday at the Tate is always a good idea, but hey, what’s up with the café? Zero service, cracked trays and every second fluorescent lamp was broken, improvement needed! My old school canteen is nicer!

Anyway  the Romantics was a pretty good show, even if the photography -bit, had a very vauge link to the rest of the exhibition. It felt more like a ‘space filler’, than anything else.

imageOne of the best:  Henry Wallisthe  death of Catterton, paintied 1855-56).

Its a suicde scene. The boy is the seventeen year old poet, Thomas Chatterton. I think they say  it was arsenic, and that the reason for taking his life was not gaining the success he hoped for when moving to London.

Well, not much has changed.

image Remeber children! Never play with arsenic!
